Leo Varadkar is in Limerick today for a jobs announcement at H&MV Engineering in Plassey TAOISEACH Leo Varadkar has hailed a Limerick engineering firm, which is doubling its workforce, as “one of the great success stories of the Mid-West”. Mr Varadkar is at the headquarters of H&MV Engineering in Plassey this Friday lunchtime, where the company is announcing 150 new jobs, to bring the number of people it employs locally to 300. Set up in 1997, H&MV is a specialist in high voltage transmission and distribution systems. Its expansion comes after a 2015 management buyout of the firm led by its now chief executive PJ Flanagan and executive director John Stokes. Mr Varadkar said: “Innovative, indigenous companies like H&MV are a driving force in the Irish economy.  The Government has very ambitious plans for the Mid West region. I am committed to the construction of the M20 between Limerick and Cork. Taoiseach hails Limerick engineering firm as one Mid-West’s ‘great success stories’
