Request Recommendations

Receiving recommendations from managers and clients can help achieving your networking goals on LinkedIn.

Before you send requests, think about what you want to achieve.

If you want to move into a top management position, ask for recommendations that discuss your leadership ability in action.

Personalize each recommendation request you send.

Provide Recommendations

At times, you might want to recommend your connections even if they don’t send you a recommendation request.

You can initiate a recommendation by visiting your connection’s profile page and click the recommend link below the

related position which opens the CREATE YOUR RECOMMENDATION page.

Manage Recommendations

You’ll want to manage received recommendations and to manage recommendations you give to others effectively.

Request a new recommendation if you have a new job title or you receive a promotion.

Add a new position and request a recommendation for that job rather than revising an existing recommendation.
