📝 Launch a Petition or Proposal in 4 Weeks

💡 The Goal: Turn a civic idea into a real initiative — by creating a clear, public petition or proposal to influence change.

✅ STEP 1: Define the Problem & Your Solution

Start with clarity and focus:

  • ❓ What needs to change?
  • 🎯 Who has the power to change it?
  • 🧠 What simple action or decision are you asking for?

Tactic: Keep your solution specific and doable. Aim for one clear ask.

Example: “We ask the city council to create a safe pedestrian crossing at Main Street and Oak.”

✅ STEP 2: Write Your Petition or Proposal

Use clear, respectful, citizen-powered language:

  • ✍️ Include:
    • The issue
    • Why it matters
    • What you’re requesting
    • Who supports it (optional: space for signatures)
  • 📍 Choose your format:
    • Online petition (e.g. Change.org, Avaaz, local platforms)
    • PDF proposal to email to officials
    • Printed petition to collect in-person signatures

Tactic: Keep it under 1 page — concise is powerful.

✅ STEP 3: Share, Promote & Deliver

Time to spread the word and make it count:

  • 📣 Send to 10 friends or local groups
  • 💬 Post it once per week on social or in relevant forums
  • 📬 When ready, send it directly to your representative, local government, or relevant body

Tactic: Even if only 10 people sign, that’s 10 voices stronger than silence.
